Mini Scolymia

The Scolymia, often referred to as a Scoly, is one of the most striking and visually captivating corals you can add to your aquarium. Typically circular in shape, Scolymias can grow to about 3-4 inches in diameter and come in a wide range of colors. Among the most coveted varieties are the Warpaint, Bleeding Apple, and Master Scolies. These corals are relatively easy to care for and thrive best when placed on the sandbed. It's important to ensure they are not buried under sand, as this can cause problems. Scolymias lack sweeper tentacles, making them safe to keep with other corals without the risk of aggression. Many aquarists enjoy creating colorful "Scoly gardens" by grouping different colored Scolymias together. However, Scolymias cannot be fragged and do not usually reproduce in home aquariums. They grow slowly but accept a variety of meaty foods and specialized coral foods for LPS corals.
